Kicking off his Djing career in 1999, Shadi Megallaa moved up quickly in the industry and made a name for himself. Megallaa was one of the pioneers of the Dubai electronic scene in the early to mid 2000. In 2013 Shadi started his own label called "Ark To Ashes" inspired by the story of Lee "Scratch" Perry burning down his Black Ark studio. Among Shadi's several studio projects, his work with Abood Nasrawi under their GYPS moniker has been the most productive over the past few years. Another milestone in Shadi's life was opening The Flip Side record shop in Dubai in 2017. The Flip Side has since become a hub for the music community in Dubai and has gained world-wide recognition.
