"I thought I'd try something a little different and jump down a thematic rabbit hole. I really love that 1980s intersection of RnB, pop, disco and electro. Brilliant session musicians, 808 drum machines, heartache vocals and slow tempos. You can see how much it really influenced the birth of house and techno in chicago and detroit. A lot of this music seems to be left behind now but the production quality and depth of emotion and sound really hits me in the feels."
